PAYMENTS
HOW TO PAY
You can pay in advance via monthly invoice or at the end of each lesson.
LATE PAYMENTS
If you have not paid an outstanding invoice or owe me for previous lessons I will not allow you to book in for your next lesson until payment is made.
You will not be reimbursed or credited for any lessons missed due to late payments.
MISSED LESSONS & CANCELLATIONS
CANCELLATIONS
I require at least 24hrs notice to cancel any lesson. You will still be required to pay full price for any lessons cancelled with less than 24hrs notice.
MISSED LESSON BY STUDENT
If a student doesn’t arrive for their timetabled lesson they will be marked as absent & the lesson will be missed (not made up at a later date.)
If they are late to their lesson, their lesson will still end at the scheduled time.
It is always the student’s or parent’s responsibility to attend their lesson at the correct time.
ILLNESS
If a student does not attend a lesson due to illness I am not required to make up the lesson at a later date unless circumstances are severe (prolonged illness).
Detailed lesson notes or a video lesson will be given where possible with accompanying resources.
REFUNDS
No refunds for payments made will be given for lessons missed due to illness, lateness, or other circumstances. Where deemed
appropriate, I will make up lessons owed as I see fit on a case by case basis.
MISSED LESSON BY TEACHER
If I am absent from a timetabled lesson due to illness, disrupted journey, or clash with other activity, you will be notified by phone or email & the missed lesson will be rescheduled to a later date or credited against your next payment.
CONTACTING THE TEACHER
FOR GENERAL ENQUIRIES
Please use my email address or the My Music Staff system as the first port of call followed by text or phone call.
FOR STUDENTS
I can be contactable through the My Music Staff practice log for homework tips or assistance.
TRACKING PROGRESS
LESSON NOTES
At the end of each lesson, the student will receive lesson notes on the My Music Staff system detailing what was covered & what is required for homework. Parents of younger students are also able to view these notes with their login details.
STUDY OUTSIDE OF LESSONS
Students will be able to access a wide range of resources on the My Music Staff system. I operate a largely paperless system.
TEACHER / STUDENT CONTACT
SAFEGUARDING
I will never communicate directly with a child student using texts or social media unless it is for a specific reason requested by the parent.
Communications with students will be handled from within the My Music Staff system using school email addresses where possible. All communications will be visible by parents.
MY MUSIC STAFF
My Music Staff is the digital system I will use to provide all homework, lesson notes, updates, & most contact with students & parents. Please contact me for assistance if needed.
EXPECTATIONS
APPROACH
Students should arrive at their lesson in good time ready to learn with the appropriate equipment (drum sticks, books, paper & pen etc)
PRACTICE
Learning an instrument is very fun & rewarding but only when a student puts the time in outside of lessons. Drum lessons are not to be viewed as a ‘club’ & in order for progress to be made a student is required to play outside of lessons regularly & complete home study tasks. Students are required to use the practice log as evidence of home study.
THANK YOU.
